Free evening? Uh. I have that. Right now. Or tonight. [Which might be close enough to be the same thing.] Or tomorrow night. Or any night this week. [Calender: cleared!]

[He's just going to be stunned by the jello request given their previous conversation.] Wha-ah-err-sure. [He can do that, but his processor is spinning on the 'why'.]

If it's not inconvenient. I don't want to take you away from your other duties.

[Just like after the battle, Drift seemed to disappear, when Wing most wanted to have some private time to talk to him. Almost like he was avoiding him. ]

Good. I have something to show you. {AAAAND he wants to tease you about the great strawberry jello incident.]

Not at all!

[It's less duties or avoidance (well maybe a little of the latter because SHY) and more trying to figure out this odd power of his. Which he seems to have no control over what-so-ever. Not an overly charming thought.

But speaking of charming, here's Wing.]

Show me? [Ooohh.] When should I come by?

[Wing can relate to the practicing thing. He hopes it's something they can perhaps talk about during dinner, too. ]

I, well, it's a surprise. [Something he's been working on since he found it in the marketplace. He wants to share this victory, and who better than Drift?]

Whenever you feel like it. [Not that he's not already decorated the place before comming Drift or anything. Nope. Not at all.]

[A splendid idea. Drift is still not sure what to think of his. He's a little...lost.]

A surprise? [OHHH! Cue nervous tingles.] Uh, well. Give me an hour to navigate the marketplace and be over? [No mech you need to do maintenance like whoa.] ERR, make it two? Ish? Earlier I hope?

[Naw, he's not eager at all.]

{Wing could just show him now, and the excitement is almost enough. It's a convertor and it's probably not that exciting, but, well, he wants someone to share in the moment, in his ability repair it. ]

Whenever you are ready. I'll be waiting. [There's a little lilt in his voice now.]

[There's nothing wrong with savoring the reaction of a surprise, Drift would understand waiting. He might just hug you for it Wing! Er. If. That's okay...]

I promise I won't keep you waiting long. See you soon! [Grin. And more grinning. And then he's gone, dashing off to tackle a fraction of the 10 million things he'd like to do as preparation that he doesn't really have time for.]

There's no...rush.

[Ooops, too late? Drift's already rung off.]

[He's rushing around, trying to plan things in his head and likely making this way more complicated than is even necessary when he finally realizes he's missed a critical detail.

Sooo he gets on the comm again.]

Uh, Wing? [SO sheepish.]

[Wing's been tidying his already tidy quarters, checking the level of lighting, and flipflopping between having the convertor on obvious display or to hide it for a reveal, casting eager looks at the door. The comm channel startles him--he's been expecting a door chime, instead.]

Did something come up? [Why else would Drift sound like that? ] We can do it some other time, if that would be better?

Uh, no! No. I'm right on schedule.

Just. Uh. [Cough.]

Where am I going?

[Knowing where Wing's hab suite is might be a good thing, yes?]

OH. I should have thought of that.

[He doesn't know where Drift lives, either, for that matter, but he figures the mech wants to keep his privacy. After all the intrusions of his privacy Wing had performed back on Theophany, he would keep his respectful distance.]

Green, number six. The first floor.

[So should have Drift, oops.]

Green, huh? I'm in Orange 1. [Maybe a little disappointment there. No wonder he'd never seen Wing around. In fact apparently none of his fellow Cybertronians are in his building at all which is starting to feel a little lonely. Well, unless you count Pharma, in which case that's negative numbers not positive. But hey, Drift gets to visit Wing now, that's big plus!] I'll be there shortly!

[It doesn't take him long to find what he needs in the marketplace, plus an unexpected bonus: what looks like a battered old model Cybertronian datapad that he snatches up from a junk collector without thinking twice. He's cleaned himself up as best he can, though it'll take a good buffing to remove the last of the mar where his autobrand lived. He's trying not to see the symbolism in that, but thankfully he has better things to look forward to right now.

So now Drift's standing outside the's door, waiting for his ventilations to calm, the old datapad and packet of 'jello' in hand. His finger hovers over the chime and with one last huff from his vents...he presses it.]

[ unfortunately, it's not Wing that is about to answer the door. how Drift can mess up simple directions is a wonder, but when that door slides open? there is a massive tank crouching to see who could possibly be bothering him... ]

[ red optics glowing in the shadow of his frame, Megatron sees who his quest is. ]

Drift?

[Hey he's just a little overexcited is all. Which is why he has a huge grin on his face when the door opens...that deflates into confusion when he sees someone very unexpected answer the door.]

What're you--? Did Wing invite you too?

[Well damn, there goes his giddy thoughts of getting in some long overdue one-on-one time. (No offense Megatron).]

[ ...well he sees Drift's confusion. but then he also recalls the name. Wing. Megatron very quickly assesses the situation and puts two and two together.

Drift simply has the wrong room.

with that he smirks, folding his arms over his chest. ]

Oh no no, Drift. I'm not interrupting your hot date, don't worry. You, however, have the wrong room. I live here.

[Megatron sure figures it out faster than Drift does. The swordmech's thought process is a cascade of expressions that pass over his face, ending in something akin to abject horror.]

Aaaaaaaaaahaha^hahahaaaa SO I do. Have the wrong room. Fancy that!

I'll just, uh, be going then. [There's a flurry of hands before they both clutch the datapad in front of his face, as if the sheer force of his will might grow it to a size that could hide him from this embarrassing faux pas, blue optics shifting color slightly as the peer over the edge.] Terribly sorry. Have a good evening~!

[And then he pivots on a heel and steps towards the door opposite, finger hovering over the chime, resisting the urge to whang himself in the head with that datapad.]

...Yes. Fancy that.

[ oh Drift's horror is great. it's been a while since Megatron has had something to actually laugh at. which he is. yes, that's a thing he's doing right now - a deep sound that's going to vibrate through the corridor.

he doesn't stop Drift from continuing on, but his optics do catch that datapad. it looks pretty familiar... one of the knicks on the side.

but nah. coincidence.

with Drift gone he just moves back into his room. to write more, of course. ]

[Wing's heard some commotion in the hallway. It's not like he hasn't been listening for Drift's arrival or anything. But that sounded like...laughing?

Well, that was always a good sign, though it didn't sound like Drift's laugh. Then again, he's only heard Drift's kind of nervous laugh before.

He opens the door, just as the laugh echoes in the hallway, but there's Drift, clutching a datapad and looking a little confused.]

Is everything all right? I thought I heard...something (?)

[Drift is still trying to get his expression under control when the door opens. But thank Primus it's Wing this time! Whom he looks rather ecstatic to see. (And embarrassed. But nevermind that part.)]

Yes, now. Everything's fine now. [The datapad falls from view as Drift swings his arms nervously.] May I come in?

[Before anyone else pokes their head out into the hallway to investigate the noise?]

Now?

[So it wasn't fine before? Hmmmm. Suspicious jet is suspicious.]

Of course you can come in. I invited you, silly!

[Well yes it was dicey for about two minutes there. Drift might prefer another sword to the chest over Megatron exclaiming he's on a 'hot date' to the entire building. And seriously is this even a date for that matter? He has NO idea. If it is, he is not nearly nervous enough.]

I just...didn't know you lived across the hall from Megatron. That's all.

[Drift needs to quietly assassinate the storm of thoughts that bit of info riles up in his processor. POSITIVE THOUGHTS! Instead, he moves inside, looking around the room.]

[The date himself is feeling relatively room temperature, but he is certainly not averse to being warmed up.]

It was a surprise to me, but he is a quiet neighbor. [He gets the official Crystal City Seal of Good Neighborliness from Wing, which is another mark in the former warlord's favor, as far as Wing's concerned. It's hard to view the 'guy across the hall' as a mass murdering genocide, after all. ]

[Wing's settled on hiding the convertor for now, on the table with a cloth over it. Humans called it a table cloth, so surely that's what it was for--a cloth to hide things on tables. He is getting the hang of this. So there's a large blue and yellow flower patterned....lump on the main table. Smooth.]

Did you bring the jello?

[This may go down in history as the best or worst pick up line ever.]

[But wait, maybe they shouldn't be talking about Megatron. Doubtful that's the reason Drift was invited here. He does cast an optic at the odd mound of blue and yellow flowered Something on the table.]

[~~Or the best pick-up line.~~] Oh. Yes! Er. We need to make it first. But I just need a dish to put it in. [Because HEY, doing it in the palm of your hand makes a mess!]

[Wing is definitely interested in warming, yes. Perhaps, in fact, with some newly fabricated energon in both their systems.]

It's a laugh I wouldn't have imagined the Megatron of the early war to have, yes.

[He shrugs.] No, we've never spoken. He keeps to himself.

Hm. Maybe I should be more welcoming as a neighbor? [Welcome wagon giftbasket?]
