[Hello Knowhere, it's been a little while. Drift's generally good spirited demeanor seems a touch off-kilter today. Something's clearly gotten the swordmech in a state of awkward uncertainty.]

Sooo, uh. Has anyone, by chance....seen another one of my kind? But bigger, red chassis, blue helm, faceplate, tall audio spires. [As if Drift needed to illustrate that by putting his fingers to the sides of his helm; his own finials do that all on their own.] Sometimes looks like a big truck?

[AHEM.]

Answers to the name Optimus Prime?

[Because Drift swears he's seen the Autobot leader walking the halls of Knowhere. If Optimus had arrived, Drift would have heard about it before this, right? RIGHT? So was it a vision? Or has he taken too many hits to the helm? Maybe the last of the energon in his ration pack finally went bad? He still doesn't understand these powers that he--supposedly!?--has, and you know, how they're even supposed to work.]

Erm, on that note. Anyone out there with a time gem shard, if you've had an success with your powers, I'd love to hear from you.

He knows, sort of. ( Rodimus was sort of vague on the specifics, but the word 'best friend' was used and really, everyone knows who his best friend is at this point. ) Super sort of vaguely that something might have happened and you uh. Weren't around.

( And got an epic smackdown because of it. But that's in the past, right? Right. And anyway, it's not like Rodimus won't immediately vouch for Drift in any way, shape, or form. )

Huh. Well if you think you saw it, it still could be something. Guess we just have to wait and see.

Well I think the uh, end result, might be pretty obvious. [He's never been one for the brandless fashion statement, ergo no longer an Autobot.]

That's the frustrating part. I don't know if it's true until it...happens? [Because as fond of the idea that he's been chosen by a cosmically powerful artifact-gem-thing, it's not the same as faith in your native deity. He sure is glad a near-death experience isn't required for these vision though!]

( Oh god how do you explain to Dadimus to go easy on your bestie for something that's your fault?? One of life's biggest mysteries. Rodimus rubs the back of his neck before moving on like the champs they are. )

It hasn't given you any other visions for us to test it by? Like-- someone punching Megatron in the face or anything?

( He's reaching. He doesn't care that he's reaching though. )

[Yeeeeeaaaahhh, it's called taking a shot to your ego in order to do the Right Thing. Drift knows how much this sucks! ~~And has had a little too much practice really.~~ There's nothing about this that isn't AWKWARD so moving on...]

... [He makes a face.] Not that specifically. Though if I get any about Megatron taking a beating I'll be sure to pass it on.

I think I did have one before, I just didn't realize it at the time. It was such a brief flash I thought it was my imagination.

[Except he acted instinctively based off that awful vision, yanking Wing back from the fissure at the last second.]

I knew I could count on you. ( You're the best, Drift. Have a winning grin for that. ) It'd be nice if you could control 'em. Figure out things we needed to know before we knew them.

( The sooner they can get back to their proper universe or whatever, the better as far as he's concerned. )

Wouldn't it be? Maybe that would be too powerful though... [Not that he'd have an issue with that really, except the possible responsibility he gets a feeling would go with it.] But I think the variables involved make it difficult to predict something with utter certainty. The potential for paradox and what-not?

[There's some Perceptor (or Brainstorm) showing through there, not that Drift does a good impression of either of them.]

( Like Rodimus can tell sarcasm, especially from Drift. )

It's what? A shiny gem that gives us powers - I don't think 'too powerful' actually factors into this. ( Oh god is that science, Drift? You KNOW how much science hurts his head. ) The what? Nevermind, doesn't matter. Look - you like lists, right? So make one of all the stuff you see or something and check 'em off if they come true or not. So if there's anything similar from one to the other you can know and know what you were doing when they happened.

Or a piece of an infinitely powerful and ancient artifact. [Or something like that. It sounds better than 'shiny rock' or 'jelly bean' anyway.] Hmm...that might work. I assume that includes moments that would have happened if I hadn't done something to stop it, right?

[Because that's definitely happened, not that Drift knew it at the time.]

Well, uh, you know how there were sounds coming out that weird shiny barrier on EG.K?

Well we weren't sure what it was. Just looked like a huge glowy barrier, but there were sounds coming from inside. Like combat.

We were standing there trying to figure it out, and I got this flash, barely lasted two kliks, and well...let's just say it involved Wing and the barrier and it wasn't pretty. [MEGA-GRIMACE] I snapped out of it and then just, kinda reacted. Lunged out and grabbed Wing. I guess he heard something inside and was trying to go through the barrier. I yanked him back but he still, uh, lost a hand...

[Which was a lot better than what he'd foreseen yeah wow.]
